LIFE - Gabriel is the fourth generation of the Gaggino winemaker family. Young enthusiastic, and with a persuasive charm, he oversees both the winery and the land with excellent results. Here, thanks to the advice from the oenologist John Bailo, they are obtaining good products, especially with dolcetto, in which Gabriel has great expectations.

VINES - The company’s 20 hectares of vineyards are divided into two distinct parts, with very different soil characteristics: the first, in the vicinity of the winery boasts white calcareous soils, while the second, which is located in the nearby municipality of Carpeneto, is characterized by a red clay base with many stones. The wine varieties are typical of the cultivated area: Cortese, Barbera and Dolcetto.

WINES - Attentive to detail, pleasant, respect for the territoriality: these are the three elements that define Gabriele Gaggino’s style of wines. Dolcetto di Ovada Sup. Sant'Evasio 2007 (3.000 bt, € 13) gives up crisp red fruit aromas, toasted spice complemented by a delicate tannin, a balanced body and a good persistence. The Cortese dell’Alto Monferrato Madonna della Villa 2009 (1.000 bt, € 16) is very particular, with its delicate floral bouquet while decisively mineral, it offers a good acid-sappy synergy and closes with a nice dry finish. The fruity Dolcetto Ovada Convivio 2008 (20.000 bt, 10 €) is more traditional, with hints of plants, good acidity and a typical tannin closing. The Piedmont Chardonnay Pagliuzza 2009 (6.000 bt, 9 €) plays a balancing act with its fruity aromas, measured body and good acidity.
